It’s a real floating city, with everything needed for living and working. Typically, the shift for oil workers on the offshore rig platform lasts 2–3 weeks, and then another team takes over. It's a very tough and dangerous job, with the open sea and easily flammable oil increasing the risks. That's why rescue equipment, from boats to helicopters, is also part of the platform. To make our wooden 3D model as realistic as possible, our engineers have included these elements as well.

Well all, you have excelled yourselves with this model. YES, it is NOT easy, but it is one heck of a model. Having made numerous models from yourselves, I learnt a long time ago to sand EVERY piece as you build and to apply as much wax as possible. I did make a mistake in winding it up, over wound it, BUT, it works ok in manual mode. Be PROUD IN WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED in this model. Enjoy life. Bob S

Guys, do OUTDID yourselfs with this model!!! WHAT a joy to build this, unbelievable!! You really pushed the limits of what is possible, buy hey: everything works! Yes, the legs were a bit of a pain in the *ss, but with lots of patience, I get it working the way is was intended. Just today, I finished the project, and I hope there is more to come like this! And yes, I also made quite some models of other brands lkne u*****, but you simply are the best! The way everything fits is unprecedentid. Aw, ... ok ... there was a little glitch ... Board #8 was 1 mm too thick, so nothing did fit, but with one simple email this was solved by sending me a new board. Within one week I received it, so no harm done. So, my message to you is simple, Woodtrick: PLEASE DESIGN A EVEN MORE COMPLICATED CONSTRUCTION, WITH EVEN MOOOOORE PARTS ! ;-) ;-) ;-) I Love it, I love it, I LOVE IT !!!
Now after about 24 hours of tinkering the gear part is closed. We will continue the construction tomorrow. Very satisfied with the quality of the kit, no parts broken yet, although the delicate wooden parts are sometimes difficult to loosen. The laser cuts are beautiful but sometimes very difficult to cleave, even with a surgical knife. We are still eagerly awaiting the instructional video as the PDF manual sometimes lacks clarity. An 81-year-old enthusiastic tinkerer.

Well I hope more is to come like this one I completed the galaxy marble run and didn’t think there was any chance they could top it how wrong I was you have to be a little careful taking parts from boards as some can be broken if you press to hard also be very careful when you put helicopter together as some parts are very fragile make sure you check your progress at certain points to make sure all works as it should as it is very hard to remove certain parts after they’re put into place but rest assured you will have many happy hours doing this offshore oil rig and i look forward to your next bigger model in the near future delivery was very good it only took three day to arrive from Poland

You might like to look at your terminology. The model is a 'jack-up' drilling rig used in shallower waters and is mobile. A platform is a production facility, normally anchored to the sea bed. To the best of my knowledge 'Rig Platform' does not exist. Otherwise I am enjoying building it - the quality is good and ordering and delivery no problem.

Bonjour J'ai un peu commencé la plateforme. Les images du plan de montage sont mauvaises. Et sur votre site web ce sont les mêmes et ce n'est pas mieux. J'ai déjà fait 8 maquettes de différents marchands. La qualité de votre bois n'est pas la meilleure, mais pour l'instant ça va. Je regrette que le numéro des pièces ne soit pas gravé sur la pièce. J'espère que vous progresserez. Je me suis lancé un défi et j'irai jusqu'au bout ! MV

Simply brilliant, don't hesitate to build this model, it's incredibly well designed, very technically challenging, sand and wax everything and it works perfectly. I broke a gear section by accident, but thankfully Woodtrick offer a very efficient replacement parts service, for a very responsible cost and l received my parts quickly. I've already purchased my next model from Woodtrick, Timbertron Robot/Truck, which has over 1200 pieces. Please bring out more large and challenging models.

Un bon moment de plaisir
Die Rig ist noch nicht ganz fertig (ca. 60%)! Bisher war alles soweit OK. Nach der Endbearbeitung (abschmirgeln) haben die Bauteile gut gepasst. Mit den 2 beigelegten Wachstablettenkommt man nicht aus. Einige der Teile mussten recht mühsam ausgeschnitten werden, da ein Herauslösen nicht ohne Beschädigung möglich war. Das Heben der Plattform ist trotz guter Schmierung wegen der vielen Zahnräder nicht möglich. Die Reibung ist einfach zu hoch. Ich vergebe bis zu meinem aktuellen Baufortschritt aber schon mal 5 Sterne, da ich die Idee und auch die Umsetzung Klasse finde. Eine abschließende Bewertung erfolgt noch nach dem Bauende.
